I’ve always loved art as long as I can remember, but I guess winning my elementary school art contest in kindergarten gave me the confidence to pursue it. I arranged my senior year of high school with 6 art classes instead of APP honors classes (the suggested route) much to the dismay, of my parents, teachers, and principal…but I always knew what I wanted to do. I graduated from college with a BA in painting
I spent the early part of my career using the knowledge from 1 graphics class that I took in college. I moved up to an Art Director position in packaging and then in the stationary world. An executive vice president asked me where I saw myself in 5 years and I smiled and gave the correct response creative director….yet I knew I didn’t want that. I wanted the freedom to create and illustrate my own designs. So I quit my job and started on my illustrating journey….because you only live once.
My favorite thing is to digital paint, I use Photoshop, procreate and Adobe Fresco is my new favorite medium. I also enjoy using Adobe illustrator to create fun text and icons.
In my spare time, wait I don’t have any spare time…. I have a small boy who I love being a busy and creative Mommy to. We look for pirate’s bootie, make rock flowers, eat dandelion soup, and fight off sassy dinosaurs. My imagination has always been my best friend….I hope I help inspire his imagination and yours!
