CATH AGER

I have always loved art. From an early age I would annoy my parents spreading my art projects throughout the house! After school and art college I studied Textile Design and Surface Pattern at Cleveland College of Art. Following graduation, I worked as a furnishing textile designer for six years, alongside that I was a partner in a fashion print co-op catering mainly for the US market.

Subsequently I worked as a senior designer and studio manager for several UK companies where I designed own brand gift wrap, greeting cards, tags, stationery and packaging for most major UK retailers.

I am the proud mother of two lovely children; to allow for more flexibility I now work freelance from my studio in Sheffield. I love working with the other designers at Inspire Art Licensing, working out trends and new ideas.

In my spare time I love hiking with my partner and kids (particularly in the Peak District). I’m an active member of a Sheffield running club and have played badminton with a group of friends almost every week for the last 20 years! My favourite activities are mountain holidays and photography. I take design inspiration from the outdoors, fashion prints and pattern and the copious children’s books I’ve read with my kids over the years.
